Letter to Future 8th Graders

Dear future 8th graders,

If you need help knowing how to succeed, I got you. Three activities we do in 8th grade are Istation, Wordly Wise, and debates.

First, we have Istation. These are easy 100s. They help you get a better grade. Don’t make the teacher mad and do your homework.             Next,  Wordly Wise. These are also easy 100s. They help you study for the vocabulary test you have. You can easily do them in under 15 minutes if you actually try.                                                                                 Lastly, debates. We have some debates, and they are really fun. You have to be able to persuade people to take your side, have good presenting skills, and be they need to be comfortable with their classmates.                                                                                                                                        Also, this is a bonus, make good friends. Not just friends but real friends. They will help you through the hard times in life. And, encourage you to try your hardest. Keep them. Keep your true friends, because they will be there for you no matter what.

So, there you go, that was some 101 tips on how to be a successful 8th grader, and those are some activities that we have throughout the school year. Do good on your Istation, Wordly Wise, and debates. However, we do have more, so do good on those too. Then you will for sure be a successful 8th grade Beta scholar.  Also, remember to do EVERYTHING with excellence!

Sincerely,                                                                                                                                                  Ixtzel

“What is that?” Sasha says. “It looks like two huge, fat, sticks.” Amber adds. “Let’s go check it out and see if it moves or something!” Zach shouts. The three kids all run toward the strange looking sticks. As they get closer and closer, it seems to be getting larger. “Maybe we shouldn’t go…it looks to scary” Amber says nervously. “Don’t be a chicken Amber” Zach teases. The three of them get to the horrific looking object. “Eww, that’s disturbing” Sasha says in disgust. “This is so cool! I have to get a picture!!” Zach says with excitement. The end.

It’s taking forever!” “We don’t know Millie, stop asking” replies Jacob(middle) serenely. “You need to have patience and stop being a brat Millie” rebuked her older sister, Ariel(right). “I’m not a brat!” Millie screams. “Then stop acting like one!” “You two stop fighting! 100 Word Challenge- Week 7

I woke up to my mom screaming, “IXTZEL WAKE UP! YOU’RE GOING TO BE LATE!” I answered brusquely and rebuff, “I’m tired let me sleep Mom.” She got mad and told me to get out of bed, she had also opened the door. When I got out of bed, I went to the door and slammed it shut. As the door slammed, I knew that was a despicable action to do. I quickly opened the door to my mom’s mad face. Her anger was pervasive. “I’m really sorry Mom, I wasn’t thinking straight!” I said desperately. My life was over…

Student Blogging Challenge #2

Marlene’s beauty and fashion blog- About Me,”Hey Marlene! My name is Ixtzel. While I was reading your post, I had seen you like Justin Bieber. I am a fan of him too! You have done a great job on your blog, however, i will suggest that you try not to use word shortcuts. Such as lol and k. You can also improve by explaining what etc. means. It leaves me wondering what else you love. Overall, you post was great!” I commented on her post because I had seen her blog’s name. The blog’s name caught my attention. While I was reading her post I had read that she likes Justin Bieber. As a result, I decided to comment.

LEVEY’S 8TH GRADE BLOG– five things about me, “Hey Joseph! I’m Ixtzel. I have learned that you have dogs, so do I. A way you can improve on your writing is to have proper grammar, capitalize words that need to be capitalized, and add some punctuation. For example, you stated your birthday was “october 20th”. You have to capitalize the month because it is a proper noun.  Also, you wrote, “bday”. Writing out the word birthday makes your writing sound more academic. Another way to improve is putting periods at the end of each statement. Otherwise the reader will not be able to take breaths. Other than those errors, I learned about you and you did a great job.” I commented on his post because this post had many errors. This did not make me feel good, so I wanted to give some advice.

The Blog of Dreams- Talking Frogs Riding Motorcycles, “Hey, I’m Ixtzel. I love your post! Specially the part where they go to the Falls and everyone gets turned into a frog but the group of friends. I also love how you added a huge twist at the end. It was all a dream! That grabbed my attention, now I want to read some more! Great job!” I commented on this post because the name made me laugh. Also, I loved how she ended the story.

Kiley’s World- A Perfect Day to Me, “Hey Kiley! My name is Ixtzel. I totally agree with your statement. A “perfect day” doesn’t have to be going somewhere expensive. It can be having the best time with your loved ones. Having a best friend or even a family member that you love to spend time with, can be the best feeling. Loved your post and hope you can keep sharing your opinions because they are great!” I commented on this post because the title caught my attention. I figured it was going to be about a fantasy but it wasn’t. Instead, it was real and I believe her statement are true.

Overall, I hope you can learn from this post about how to comment. Also, make sure you connect to the author, say nice words, and give helpful tips.
